MEERKAT® Safety Awards

The Meerkat Way has helped thousands of organisations improve the working lives of millions of people all over the world.

As the programme has been designed to be fully adaptable, it is often integrated into an existing training agenda or forms the basis of an entirely new strategy.

Here are just some of the awards All For One has been responsible for:

Gypsum Safety Award – Lafarge Plasterboard UK

Lafarge Plasterboard chose All For One – The Meerkat Way as the core ingredient in their latest, hugely successful, safety campaign.

European Safety Award – BOC Morden

BOC’s Morden site came up with a highly creative campaign to engage with employees and better improve a well performing site.  This involvement of BOC’s people has meant that 53% of the Morden site’s staff now take on additional SHEQ roles.  In addition, they have seen an incredible 400% rise in the  number of suggested improvements and an impressive 30% increase in behavioural observations.  The dedicated team were not only awarded the Linde Group’s prestigous Silver Safety Award for their ongoing efforts, but also a prestigious European Safety Award.

A Home Run for Safety Bob – Hydro Aluminium Raeren

And the approach is working because Hydro Aluminium Raeren has, at the time of writing, gone 230 days without an accident. It has one of the best safety records of any Hydro plants around the world.

Bovis Lend Lease – Corporate Safety Award

NSCA/Skilled Group National Safety Awards of Excellence – AlphaPharm Pty Ltd

Pharmaceutical company, Alphapharm Pty Ltd, the winner of the National Safety Award for the Best OHS Training Program, used the meerkats as the symbol for behavioural safety awareness.  The program was launched in a training room decorated as a Kalahari Desert scene and both posters and meerkat mascots (soft toys) were widely used as part of the program.

Worksafe Plan: Platinum Award Winner – City of Belmont (Australia)

As a gold, and now platinum winner of the Worksafe Plan Certificate of Achievement Award, The City of Belmont provides an interesting insight into how the use of All for One – The Meerkat Way DVD, and the adoption of meerkats as the City’s safety mascot, has had a positive impact on safety awareness.

The popularity of the program has seen the development of a newly released follow up program entitled One for All – Teamwork The Meerkat Way, which focuses on teamwork and leadership.
